ADULTS with APD
It is not uncommon that when a parent brings their child for assessment, they recognise many of the symptom patterns and assessments we do highlight issues they themselves or a member of their extended family have too. We have found over the years that neurological characteristics often run in families.

Once parents see the improvements with their children, they too ask for an assessment. Because the assessment process is designed to give objective and measurable results, they can easily ascertain that symptoms they have lived with for decades are easily improved with the Breard programme. Adult clients say, " I have lived with this for so long, I thought it was just me and only when my childs' teacher mentioned the difficulties they were having, did I remember that I had similar problems at school.
After the training adults most frequently remark how much easier life in general is. They mention having a much higher tolerance to stress and overwhelm. They find reading becomes a real pleasure for the first time, they feel generally that they are coping with life much better and relax more quickly.
If you are concerned that you may have APD but are no longer conscious of the symptoms, thinking of them as being 'just you', have an assessment and take away the guess work. Having your auditory system processing in a more robust and efficient way, can make the world of difference, whether you are wanting to improve peak performance at work or just enjoy life more fully. Feel free to chat to me about your specific symptoms.
